This place is awesome! I love the service n the price is great. Joe & Tommy does a great job. They are very decent in prices. I've been bringing my Mercedes in for regular tune ups here. The boys used to work at Smythe so their workmanship is just as good. I've referred my friends here n they love Star Auto. Give 'em a call n get a quote.
I gotta say my friends were right. Star Auto services is one of the best repair shop in san jose ca. Really nice people and honest. They would never try to upsell you something you really don't need and not only that
man they prices are affordable. Call your dealership and then call Star Auto services and you will see what I mean.
I've been meaning to write a review for a while now, so here it is! these guys are honest and tell it like it is! my CLK was well taken care of here. I will definitely come back when i need service. they are totally knowledgeable when it comes to Mercedes. Joe was born with mercedes blueprints embedded in his brain.

Star Auto Service is a place that works on luxury cars, I took my car here on recommendation from my brother who has a luxury car. I must say I was thoroughly impressed by the quality of work that was preformed on my vehicle, which by the way is no luxury car. I had major problems with my car and and for most people it wouldn't have been beneficial to have it repaired, but with the work that was done and the price I was given, it was well worth it. Just with the work that was done, (not to mention replacing things that needed it and I didn't know they needed replacing and not getting charged for it!) I am able to get at least another 3 to 4 years of use out of the car. If you are in San Jose and have a luxury car, take to Star Auto Service and make sure you see Khit, Joe any other qualified mechanic and you will not be disappointed!
I've been going to Star Auto Services for about 4 years, they have the best prices, excellent customer service and they stand behind their work. If you own a luxury car Star Auto is the only place you should go. Oh by the way Joe, Kiet & Tommy are good guys they will NEVER try to overcharge
you as a matter of fact they have repaired several items on my Mercedes that Beshoff's Motors would have charged twice as much I called Beshoff's and compared prices. 5 STAR ALL THE WAY.
I have a mini cooper 2006 and for some reason it has transmission problem few months after transmission fluid change.. I brought it to Star Auto shop for diagnostic. Joe, the owner, happily fixed the problem and one of his technician Vu even lent me his car to drive to work while my car was in the shop. They charged me at reasonable cost and the service was very professional.. I definitely recommend to my friends..

I had my car serviced here two times now, service A and brake pads. Certainly beats the cost of going to the dealership. I have no idea what the previous reviewer is saying but from my experience, Joe has been great. He is prompt and diligent in his diagnosis of my R350. I have introduced numerous family members here and they love his work. If you are looking for all that "extra" that a dealership gives you like a car wash and free coffee but charges you $350 for service A when they are really doing nothing but an oil change, then continue to waste your money there. If you are looking for honest, prompt and much much cheaper service than come see Joe. He is the best!

Been going to Star Auto for 4 years. I take all my cars there and refer all my friends there. The elusive "honest auto mechanic" does exist!! They are very fair, professional and upfront. I have yet to experience any negative service from them. Highly recommend them!

I'm loyal to european cars & with luxury cars comes luxury upkeep....for years & years i have taken my cars to the dealership because i didn't trust smaller auto places to take care of my needs. sure dealerships rip you off but at least you can complain to a higher authority if you are unhappy with something. but do they really need to charge you $250 to get the wheels on your 3 series bmw rotated? Seriously?
A friend recommended that i go see joe at Star Auto because i was complaining about how much i paid just to get the tires rotated on my bmw. to be quite honest, i was a bit skeptical about the appearance of the place when i pulled up but after having my car serviced there, i realized that these people know what they are doing, do it well, are very professional. they don't waste a ton of money on a fru-fru lounge area and/or starbucks coffee machine so that's why they don't have to steal your money to make a profit. i'm done paying for the "service advisors" cute polo shirts & fancy bmw notepads. Star Auto all the way people!
